Most of the clunkers have come in the form of a Horror movie (which is unfortunate), but this time around we have a dramatic crime-centric Thriller. Great performance from Ana de Armas, and Tye Sheridan does a good job too. The rest of the acting is bland, especially Helen Hunt. I don’t think she wanted to be here. There were certain scenes I thought were done quite well, but all the other scenes were just boring. I don’t hate this movie like everyone else, I just felt nothing.

A few recognizable Hollywood names rendered their talents in this underdeveloped thriller The Night Clerk, about a mildly autistic guy who witnessed a murder. This movie is very bland and amateurish; started off with a weak set up and progressed with no true sense of dread nor fright whatsoever. The plot is written feebly and there’s barely any development for characters involved. The pacing is sluggish as well; for a film to feel longer than its 90-minutes runtime meant viewers failed to root for the characters and their possible fates.
Acting wise, Tye Sheridan acted convincingly as a guy with functional autism (hopefully, his delivery isn’t disrespectful to the community) while Helen Hunt is dependable in her maternal role. Sadly,…
